If you are under the age of 89 you may not remember when a Kingdom Hall became a Kingdom Hall. In fact you need to be around 95 to have attended a meeting at a non-Kingdom Hall. So when did our meeting places start to be called Kingdom Halls?
From the "Divine Purpose" book pages 154 and 155. "Judge Rutherford made his first visit to Australia. That was in 1938. He had been in the Hawaiian Islands in 1935 when a new Branch was established in Honolulu and arrangements were made for the construction of an assembly hall in connection with the new Branch building that was being erected.' This meeting hall was called "Kingdom Hall," which was the beginning of the practice of Jehovah's witnesses the world over of calling their congregational meeting centers Kingdom Halls." So, it was in 1935 we started using "Kingdom Hall" for our meeting places.
